Bruce Rothney

Bruce Rothney is a Deputy Chairman and has experience in all facets of investment banking.

He joined the firm in 1991, and from 1991-1998 served as Co-Head of the Communications and Technology Group and was responsible for many of the firm's senior corporate relationships in these industry sectors. In 1999, he moved to New York to manage the U.S. Corporate and Investment Banking Division. In 2000, Bruce was appointed Head of Corporate Finance and became a member of both the Operating and Executive Committees of the firm. Following the merger with Dain Rauscher Wessels and Tucker Anthony Sutro, Bruce was appointed Head of Investment Banking for RBC Capital Markets.

Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Bruce worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York.

Bruce received his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and was awarded the Chartered Accountant designate while articling with Ernst and Young in Toronto. Bruce also holds a B.Comm. (Honors - Distinction) from the University of Manitoba.

Bruce serves on the Boards of Directors of North York General Hospital, Bishop Strachan School and Canada’s Walk of Fame. Bruce is also a Fellow of the World Fellowship of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
